During today’s SMCC webinar in which we discussed the first module of the risk management course, it was agreed that we should solidify the process of bedside handoff / endorsement of patients. Not only is this an excellent tool for increasing patient satisfaction but also for managing risk.
Effective immediately, it is my expectation that if a patient is being endorsed to another E.D. physician or AHP at WKBH, that the handoff occur at the bedside of the patient.
